I selected this task as I knew it would be a challenge to change my perspective of everyday objects. I started off the shoot taking photos of objects with an emphasis on the shadows they create and I will see if it was possible to make them look less like products and more like architecture (much like Wolfgang Tillmans’ ‘Paper drop’ series ). When I started experimenting with the focus and using a shallower aperture I then noticed how I was able to extract these objects out of there everyday context and make them unrecognisable. for the final series of images, I placed my camera on the ceilings of different rooms and pointed my camera at fire alarms, lights & ventilators. By shooting with the bottom of my camera pressed on the ceiling the original orientation of these objects where changed, by doing this the objects become unrecognisable as we never see them from this angle.
